Globe evaluations are widely accepted for federal, state and local civil service positions. Be sure to include your social security number on your application since it is always required for public employment.
Civil service law requires that candidates for most New York City jobs take and pass an exam before they can be hired. These exams test individuals on the skills and abilities that they need to do the job. Exams are administered by the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS). The Notice of Examination (NOE) for each exam lists the qualifications for the position, the types of tests required (written, practical, and/or physical) and the date(s) of the test. New York City posts an annual schedule of exams every July for titles for which City agencies seek to hire. Applicants can apply and pay for exams online, and can take an exam either online or at a community-based test center.
